Strava is the better app for fitness — running and cycling — and has a more mature social network. But it isn't built for cars: it has no real speedometer, no driving rating, and no track-day or drift features. If you want to track and improve your driving, PACE is purpose-built for it; if you want to track workouts, stick with Strava.
Where Strava is better
Credit where it's due: Strava has a huge, mature community, polished segments and leaderboards for athletes, and years of refinement for running and cycling. If your main goal is fitness, Strava is the stronger choice and PACE isn't trying to replace it.
Where PACE fits driving
PACE is engineered around the car. A smoothed GPS speedometer, speed-colored maps, a driving rating, track-day and drift modes, 0-100 timing, community speed-camera alerts, and CarPlay are all things a fitness app simply doesn't offer because runners don't need them.
The responsible difference
PACE deliberately avoids top-speed leaderboards and trophies, and bases personal records on average speed rather than dangerous peaks. The goal is to make you a smoother, more anticipatory driver — not to gamify going fast.
